TRB joins the celebration of World Teachers’ Day

The Telecommunications Regulatory Board (TRB) stands with the international community this Monday, October 5, 2026, to mark World Teachers’ Day.
This year’s edition, themed “Standing with Teachers: 60 Years of Protecting the Profession, Promoting its Status and Shaping our Future”, is led by UNESCO in partnership with the International Labour Organization, UNICEF and Education International. It calls on governments and citizens alike to reflect on the progress achieved and to renew their commitment to those who carry the responsibility of passing on knowledge.
The choice of October 5 is symbolic. It commemorates the adoption in 1966 of the ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers — the first international instrument to define the rights, responsibilities, training and employment conditions of the profession. Sixty years on, this anniversary carries special weight. It reminds us that the strength of any education system rests first and foremost on the dignity, recognition and working conditions of its teachers.
On this occasion, TRB pays heartfelt tribute to Cameroon’s teachers, the discreet yet decisive architects of the generations who will build an inclusive and competitive digital economy.
