GSR 26 IN ANKARA – REVIVING CAMEROON–TURKEY DIGITAL COOPERATION

GSR 26 IN ANKARA – REVIVING CAMEROON–TURKEY DIGITAL COOPERATION

On the sidelines of the ITU Global Symposium for Regulators 2026, H.E. Victor Tchatchouwo, Cameroon’s Ambassador to Turkey, received in audience the Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Board (TRB), Professor Philémon Zoo Zame, together with his delegation.

This strategic meeting, held on May 15, 2026, brought back to the forefront the cooperation agreement signed in May 2015 between the TRB and Turkey’s national telecom regulator, the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA). That pioneering memorandum now urgently needs to be reactivated to serve as a genuine driver of bilateral digital collaboration.

Professor Zoo Zame reaffirmed his determination to make Cameroon’s Embassy in Ankara the operational hub of this revival, building on the momentum of GSR 26 to inject new energy into the TRB–ICTA partnership through expertise exchanges and concrete capacity building programs.

The audience reflects a conviction now fully embraced by the Cameroonian regulator: digital diplomacy has become a natural extension of its mission—connecting the country to global best practices for the benefit of Cameroonian users.
