Labour Day 2026: TRB Celebrates Social Dialogue and National Unity

On May 1st, 2026, the Telecommunications Regulatory Board marked Labour Day with a march past at the 20th May boulevard and a ceremony at the Emeraude Hall in Dragage, Yaoundé, blending official addresses with cultural performances.
The event opened with the national anthem and a performance by the TRB choir. Staff delegates, represented by Akono Luce, emphasized the importance of dialogue, solidarity, and improved working conditions, while calling for collective engagement.
In his keynote speech, Professor Philémon Zoo Zame, Director General of TRB, acknowledged the proposals and encouraged staff to remain committed to the boards success. He also congratulated the organizing committee for the week’s activities, which included workshops on health and corporate culture.
The celebration carried a festive tone, highlighted by the choir’s rendition of Bob Marley’s “One love”, traditional dances from Cameroon’s East region, and a theatrical ballet by the women of AFART.
The ceremony continued with prayers led in both Christian and Muslim religions, and other festivities in a convivial atmosphere.
